The breed's legs are well angled with muscular thighs. The upper half of its body is also strong and well built. Its head is average in size with a vague stop. Its eyes are larger than average and well set. The ears, which are set above eye level, are average in length and fold in toward the face. Its nose is also medium size and dark brown in color. The breed's neck is elongated and extends to its somewhat sloping back. Its tail is in line with its back and is carried upright. It has a double coat. The outer layer of the coat is average in length and wiry. The bottom layer of the coat is softer.
