The Standard Schnauzer is a breed with a well-developed body. The breed's head is very distinct. It is wedge-shaped and somewhat long. It features ears that are triangular in shape and set high on its head. The ears are average in size. The breed's muzzle is long and tapers towards the nose. It has a vague stop. The eyes are dark (usually a shade of brown) and average in size. The nose is also dark in color, but larger than average. The back is slightly sloping at the shoulders and very strong.
