The English Toy Spaniel has a long, wavy coat that is most profuse on its chest, its underside, ears, and tail. Its round head is comparably larger that its body and is flanked by long, feathered ears that hang way past its chin. It has a definite stop. The nose is large with an ambiguous bridge. Large, dark eyes are set deep in the face. It has an elongated neck. The breed has a small build, but it is sturdy and strong. The legs are well developed; the hindlegs more angular than the forequarters. The breed's tail is set evenly with the back, is docked, and carried above the back.
