The Kooikerhondje has a compact body that is covered with liver-colored patches on its white coat. The breed has sturdy frame that is supported by straight front legs and angled back legs. The neck is well developed and transitions straight down to the shoulders without any angulation. Its head is large and has a definite stop. The ears are set high on the head and hang down close to the face. The breed's chest is deep and broad. The rib cage is well sprung. Its tails is set parallel with its back.
