The appearance of the Italian Spinone is very distinct. It has a massive body and a long head. Its muzzle is square and comparable in size to the head. The ears hang loosely and fold inward. Its frame is well built and muscular. The neck is very muscular and angular. The neck transitions to the back that is somewhat sloping. Its chest is both wide and deep. Its tail is thicker from the hocks and is carried at a height just below the back. The front legs are straight while the back legs are angled. The breedтАЩs coat is coarse and is more profuse at the legs, ears, and head.
