From its appearance the Coton de Tulear looks like a small bundle of dry, white hair. The coat is definitely the breedтАЩs most distinguishing characteristic. Its name, which references its origin as well as its general appearance, means Cotton of Tulear (Madagascar). The muzzle is straight and leads into facial features that are dark, prominent, and set against profuse hair. The ears are fluffy and hang down alongside the face.
