| Description |
| The Welsh Springer Spaniel is a breed that has features that are distinct to its breed, as well as features that are common to spaniels. The breed has an average size head and long muzzle with a definite stop. The crown of its head has some roundness. The eyes and nose are usually dark brown in color and medium in size. The ears are long and hang down past the jaw line. Its neck is elongated and angles to its straight back and somewhat sloping shoulders. Its chest is deep. The tail on this breed is docked. The limbs of this breed are well developed. The front legs are strong and straight. The back legs are also strong and well angled. This breed's coat is not as wavy as most spaniels. The coat is soft and smooth. The coat lies straight against its skin. |

| The Welsh Springer Spaniel is a sociable breed. It is possible for the breed to show signs of timid behavior, so training it in puppyhood is a good idea. Even with training this breed is not overly friendly to visitors to its home. It tends to get to know people before showing signs of affection. The breed is a working hunting companion and also a good playmate for children. Other pets are usually fine with this breed, but it is a good idea to keep an eye on them to see how they will coexist. The devotion and courage bred into this breed makes it an excellent watch dog. |
