The Schnoodle is a hybrid breed whose appearance combines features of the Poodle and Schnauzer. Its physical appearance can vary, but there are some general qualities that characterize this breed. The coat is the most distinctive feature. It can vary from coarse to soft, but most types have a wavy coat. The breed is average in size with delicate facial features. It may have a prominent nose. The ears are generally long and feathered.
Temperament
The temperament of the Schnoodle varies, but is typically very easy going. This breed has a high intelligence level and is very responsive to socialization training. It is a perfect companion for children and usually gets along fine with other pets that may live in the same home. While this breed will alert its family to guests, it is too friendly to be an effective guard dog. It is loyal and loves to spend time with its family. It can be playful and has a lot of energy.

The Schnoodle varies in height and weight. On average it stands a maximum of 16 inches and a maximum of 18 pounds.
Health Problems

In general, the breed is susceptible to progressive retinal atrophy (PRA), epilepsy, luxating patella, and cataracts. It is best to have the breed evaluated by a veteranarian.
Ideal Living Conditions
The Schnoodle should adjust easily to either outdoor or indoor living conditions. Indoor types should have more opportunities for exercise.

The Schnoodle is an energetic breed. It will appreciate a wide range of physical activities. It can accompany its owner on a walk or run. Mental training exercises are also suitable for this breed.

The Schnoodle lives an average of 13-15 years.

Grooming
While the coat of the Schnoodle varies, there is some special attention required for the breed. Brushing is what the coat the most. Brushing the coat a few times each week is fine. Just enough brushing to remove tangles and to prevent matting is most important. The coat will shed at different times during the year and will require more care. In addition to the coat, the ears should be checked as part of routine grooming.
