| Description |
| The Pomeranian is a feisty breed. Its thick and coarse coat that appears extremely fluffy is a dominant feature of the breed. There are actually two layers to the coat. The bottom layer is also thick. The coat is most profuse at the breed's neck, chest, and tail. The coat does not cover its facial features. Its head is average in size and proportioned to the rest of its body. Its muzzle is not very long. It has a definite stop. The facial features are expressive and dark in color. The breeds has back legs that are well angled and front legs that are straight. Its neck is not very long and smoothly angles to its back that is short in length, but very strong. |

| Temperament |
| The Pomeranian is a good family pet. It is high spirited and very sociable. It will gladly entertain its family. Although it can be playful, it is not very patient with young children. It tends to do better with children that are school age and who have learned to be gentle with animals. The best way to keep this breed happy is to feed it attention. It is a good watchdog, but does make a good guard dog. It will bark to alert its family of a stranger on the property. It does not easily follow commands. |

The good news about shedding season is that it only occurs twice a year for this breed. Regular care of the breed's teeth and ears is recommended. |
