| Description |
| The Kerry Blue Terrier has a very appealing appearance. The breed is also strong and very well developed. The coat of the breed is particularly attractive. It is short on most parts of the body and wavy. The breed has more fur on its legs and face. The fur on its face is unique in that it becomes profuse from the eyes to the bottom of the chin. Its muzzle and head are elongated. The ears are set high and somewhat small. It has a large nose and small eyes; both dark. Its neck is thicker at the base of the shoulders and is well muscled. The chest is deep, but average in width. It does not have a very long back. The tail stands straight up in the air. The front legs are straight and the back legs are well angled. |

| Temperament |
| There is a lot to like about the Kerry Blue Terrier. As long as the breed is socialized as a puppy, it should get along with everyone its household. While it is not aggressive or vicious, supervision is recommended whenever the breed interacts with young children or other dogs. Play is a top priority with this breed and it will seek to entertain when it has the chance. The Kerry Blue Terrier tends to be independent, but usually responds favorably to training. The breed is loving and protective toward its family and enjoys spending time with them. |

| The most serious health problems associated with the Kerry Blue Terrier is Progressive Neuronal Abiotrophy (PNA).This is a fatal genetic disease, but there are indicative in place to try and limit the number of breeds that develop the condition. The breed may also develop hip dysplasia, cataracts, and entropion. |

| Ideal Living Conditions |
| The Kerry Blue Terrier can live just about anywhere. It is active whether it resides indoors or outdoors. If the breed is kept outdoors, a small to medium size yard is sufficient. |
