| Description |
| The Ibizan Hound is a very distinct-looking breed. It is a tall and slender breed developed for quickness and agility. Its front legs are long, straight, and lean. Its back legs are lean, but feature muscle hocks. As it is standard with hounds, the breed has a long triangled muzzle with delicate, small features. It has only a minimal stop. The nose is moderate in size. Its neck is very long and slightly angled. The coat is usually flat and smooth. Although rare, some types have a coarse or long coat. The breeds tail is long, thin and hangs low. |

| Temperament |
| The Ibizan Hound has a temperament to match its deer-like appearance. It is gentle and well behaved. It does have a stubborn streak, but is responsive to training. The delicate nature of the breed makes it a great correspondence for children. As long as it knows that other dogs and cats in the household are part of the family, it should have no problem getting along with them. Its hunting and chasing nature may take over if other pets exist in the home. As with most breeds, it's a good idea for the Ibizan Hound to grow up with any pets in the household. It is cautious around new people to the home. |

| Ideal Living Conditions |
| The Ibizan Hound loves being close to its family and is suitable for indoor living conditions. However, the breed is a high energy level and is probably best suited for a yard with plenty of room for it to be active. If the breed is kept outdoors, a tall and well-built fence is a must. This breed can easily jump fences and can go off to chase small animals. During cooler months, it is a good idea that outdoor types are brought inside since the breed cannot stand very cold temperatures. |

| The Ibizan Hound must have daily exercise. It has a tremendous amount of energy and should obtain a majority of the exercise it needs if it is kept outdoors. Indoor types are active, but will need significantly more exercise. Several outings during the day are recommended for indoor types. Playing with the dog outdoors are involving it in physical exercise, such as jogging is a good idea. |
