| Description |
| The furry. Luxurious coat of the Havanese is most likely the breed's most familiar characteristic of its appearance. The coat is unusual for a doublecoat because it is the same texture at both levels. Fur just about obstructs the facial features. Underneath the fur, the facial features are medium in size and dark. The Havanese has a small stature, but is no weakling The breed's body is very strong and capable. The tail of the breed is set high and usually lies against the back. |

| Temperament |
| A home without affection is a home that is not suitable for the Havanese. This breed absolutely lives for companionship. They tend to follow family members around the house and welcome guests at the front door. Children will appreciate its playful attitude and goofy antics. It is responsive to training and should receive it early. Training should not be too firm as this may cause it to become less social and timid. Despite its size, it is very courageous. It will bark when unwelcome guests arrive. |

| The Havanese is a small breed and is suitable for small living conditions, such as apartments. The breed is active whether is lives indoors or outdoors. When indoors, it does not usually cause any problems. |

| Small breeds typically do not require a significant amount of exercise. The Havanese is the exception. The breed is a little dynamo that must obtain sufficient amounts of exercise on a daily basis. It has endurance, but the breed only needs short walks to suffice its need for exercise. |
