Description
The all-white coat and muscular build are the most outstanding characteristics of the Dogo Argentino. The head is large and round in shape with a moderate muzzle. The ears are set wide and are typically cropped when the dog is a puppy. The neck is not too long, but very muscular. The prominent jaw is evident from its profile. Its all-white coat is smooth and shiny and close to its body. The dark facial features stand out against the white coat. It body has strong and well-developed muscles in the hocks as well as in the front and back legs. The tail is long and hangs low past the hocks. The chest is deep.
Temperament
As long as it receives early training, the Dogo Argentino can be a loving and devoted dog to all of its family members, including other pets in the household. Despite its size, it can actually be a good playmate for children. Of course, supervision is recommended with the very young. It responds well to training and will follow just about any instruction its owner commands, as long as it senses its owner is firm. It is not a willing participant in violent behavior, but may become aggressive if another dog attempts to test its strength or powerfulness.
Height and Weight
The Dogo Aregntino stands between 24 and 27 inches tall and weighs between 80 and 100 pounds.
Health Problems
The Dogo Argentino is a very healthy breed. It is only prone to health problems that are common to most breeds, including hip dysplasia and conditions of the skin.
Ideal Living Conditions
The Dogo Argentino is a breed that is flexible. It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor living. If kept outdoors, it only requires enough space to run around. A yard of medium size will suit this breed. Outdoor types are fine in most temperatures, except extreme heat or cold. If the breed is kept indoors, it should be taken outside for exercise on a regular basis.
Exercise
The Dogo Argentino is a muscular breed. A daily exercise regimen that enables it to work its muscles is essential. Jogging alongside its owner is an excellent for of exercise for this breed. Those kept indoors will require more exercise than outdoor types.

The average life expectancy of the Dogo Argentino is 10-12 years.

The Dogo Argentino has an average of 6-9 puppies/litter.
Grooming
Grooming a Dogo Argentino typically involves brushing the coat once or twice a week; moreso during shedding seasons. The breed's skin is very sensitive. Any products used to wash its coat should be gentle and nondrying.
