 DOBERMAN PINSCHER
| Description |
| The Doberman Pinscher is a breed of medium size, but it has a very authoritative and intimidating appearance. It stands on straight front legs and angular back legs. Its deep chest wraps to a slightly sprung rib cage. The muscles are apparently strong. Its frame is slender and its back is highest at the base of the elongated neck, making it agile as well as fast. The coat is short, smooth, and lays close to the body. In many places docking and cropping have been outlawed, so the ears may be set high and pointed, and the tail may extend in line with the back. |

| Temperament |
| The Doberman Pinscher has mistakenly been considered a violent breed. The complete opposite is true. It is devoted to its owner and family members to the point of being overprotective of them. Training the breed as a puppy will help to socialize it and teach it how to behave properly within the household. The breed easily senses weakness and will easily take advantage of a family member that acts cowardly. Training is not only essential for the dog, but all members of the household should learn that they have authority over it and how to put forth that authority when necessary to instruct the dog. |

| Health Problems |
| Most Dobermans will not have any health problems. However, some types are susceptible to develop conditions of the spine and blood. As with most breeds of its size, the Doberman may develop hip dysplasia. |

| Ideal Living Conditions |
| The Doberman is a breed with a lot of energy. It is most suited for an environment that enables it to romp around. It doesnтАЩt need as much space as a ranch or large backyard. A space with a moderate amount of space is sufficient for the breed. It is fine to keep the breed outdoors, but it should be brought in during extreme cold weather. |

| Exercise is essential for the Doberman. In addition to being energetic, the breed also has a high endurance level. It is an excellent running companion. |
