Description
The Briquet Griffon Vendeen is a breed with an appearance of power and strength. It has a unique build that is angular and well muscled. This breed has a large head with small ears that are set high on its head. The ears are usually cropped. It has contradicting facial features. The eyes are prominent while the nose is not too long and wide. The breed's coat is one of its distinguishing characteristics. It is either wiry and thick or smooth and straight. Its neck extends smoothly to its level back. The back is shorter than average in length. The breed stands on legs that are average in length and muscular. Its tail is usually docked.
Temperament
The Briquet Griffon Vendeen is a breed that is a joy to have around. It is jovial and very playful. It gets along fine with children, although very young or small children are not recommended to interact with this breed because it can be a bit high strung and may inadvertently cause harm. It generally will coexist peacefully with other pets. This is a smart breed, but training it can be a challenge. It is independent and a bit wayward.
